The Red Menace Strikes Again?

As I was watching downhill skiing in the winter Olympics this week, I heard a familiar and unmistakable voice among the ski commentators. Unmistakably Canadian. Could the rumours be true? All signs suggest that Colin Mochrie, the zany bald comedian best known for his work on Whose Line Is It Anyway, is now doing NBC's Olympic skiing coverage. Or at least, whoever is providing the commentary has a remarkably similar voice. In fact, every time I watch, I can't help but think of my favorite goofy balding Canadian jumping around doing play-by-play with Bob Costas. It's made it hard to watch skiing without breaking into spontaneous laughter. Either way, it appears that the Red Menace has struck again, infiltrating the highest levels of our wholesome American media. Mochrie himself takes no measures to hide his Canadian-ness. Indeed, he is a self-avowed Canadian and agent of the Northern overlords themselves. But he sure seems to know a hell of a lot about skiing.
